Jefferson said, “Can
ignorant people remain free?” Today I most often see this question in
the statement: Ignorant and free can never be. Education is certainly a
critical element in returning our federal government to its
constitutional limits.
As a nation we are
second only to Switzerland in dollars spent per child per year. Yet, we
are humbled with a literacy rate that is lower than what we had at the
time of the American Revolution. Closer to home, our high school
drop-out rate is over 30 percent in North Carolina.
Our Constitution
gives no authority for federal control of education. Central
governmental control of education is one of the top 10 planks of the
failed communist manifesto. The concept we have to understand here is: a
communist dictatorship can not long exist without mind control. In fact
no encroachment of our freedoms can be accomplished without covertly
screwing with the minds of our youth. There are three good references to
this hideous/insidious monster that parents should read:
The Deliberate
Dumbing Down of America by Charlotte Iserbyts , The Underground
History of American Education by John Taylor Gatto, and FedEd
by Allen Quist. John Taylor Gatto has a web address:
www.johntaylorgatto.com .
Of course, “no child
left behind” only strengthens the federal grip on mind control.
Repealing this legislation should be the first step in getting the
federal government out of education.
Indeed we need an
education. As individuals we need to take personal action to educate
ourselves first. And, for genuine educational improvement of our youth,
we would do much better by giving time and monetary relief to those two
people who have the greatest vested interest, the most influence, and
hence the most responsibility for educating our children. They are
called Mom and Dad! |
